What to do on Hayling Island?

Situated south of Havant in Hampshire sits Hayling Island, a destination that has always appealed to our holiday makers and retains all the attractions of a traditional seaside resort.

With over 3 miles of beaches along the seafront facing the Solent, you are surrounded by beautiful views of ferries and big yachts on the wide stretches of water. On clear days the exceptional Isle of Wight can also be seen from the shore, these beaches are greatly enjoyed by the bucket and spade brigade as well as walkers and nature lovers.

The seafront is primarily a shingle, however below the high tide mark you will find long stretches of sandy beach, but this isn’t the only thing that the island has going for it!

Staunton Country Park is a hidden gem, with amazing gardens and a range of walking routes for all abilities, there is a tropical glass house and if you like animals the farm has a range of well looked after animals. There is also a pretty lake with A Chinese bridge that spans across the water to the small island in the middle, the perfect quiet spot for a rest.

A 10 minute taxi ride from Hayling island you will find the pretty market town of Emsworth, with its delightful narrow streets, charming pubs, restaurants and independent shops throughout. Emsworth harbour hosts thousands of yachts and has fabulous viewpoints, it’s the perfect place for a spot of lunch at one of the local tea rooms.

Mill Rythe Holiday Village

This holiday village is the perfect location for your stay on Hayling Island, it is nestled away on the western side of Chichester Harbour and offers a range of activities for all ages and weather. There are beautiful coastal walks accessed from the edge of its extensive grounds.

Owners, Away Resorts, have revived Mill Rythe and brought back the golden days of traditional seaside holiday resorts with a modern twist and upgraded facilities.

Comfortable Accommodation

All of the chalet bedrooms are comfortably furnished with private facilities, television, and all you need to make a tea or coffee. Many are on the ground floor too!
