Victoria Tunnel – The Victoria Tunnel is a subterranean wagon way that runs under Newcastle from the Town Moor down to the River Tyne. It was built between 1839 and 1842 to transport coal from Leazes Main Colliery in Spital Tongues to riverside staithes ready for loading onto boats for export.
The Discovery Museum – The Discovery Museum is a science museum and local history museum situated in Blandford square in Newcastle upon Tyne. It displays many exhibits of local history, including the shop, Turbinia, it is one of the biggest free museums in North East England, and in 2006 was winner of the North East’s Best Family Experience award at the North East England Tourism Awards.
Newcastle Castle – The Castle is a medieval fortification in Newcastle upon Tyne, built on the site of the fortress that gave the City of Newcastle its name. The most prominent remaining structures on the site are the Castle Keep, the castle’s main fortified stone tower and the Black Gate, its fortified gatehouse.
The Biscuit Factory – The Biscuit Factory is a Contemporary art gallery in Newcastle upon Tyne. The Gallery opened in 2002 after undergoing major renovation work. It is the largest commercial art, craft & design gallery in the UK.
