FULL DAY: Cardiff and Cardiff Bay cruise
We make our way into the Welsh capital, Cardiff, where this exciting city has undergone a transformation in recent years from a busy industrial port to cosmopolitan city of culture, character and charm. We include a fascinating guided tour this morning before making our way to Mermaid Quay to embark on board our boat for a Cardiff Bay cruise. This relaxing journey around the Bay provides some spectacular sights such as the Wales Millennium Centre, the Welsh Senedd, the Norwegian Church, the Penarth Barrage and back to Mermaid Quay for the rest of the afternoon at leisure.
FULL DAY: Brecon Mountain Railway & Brecon Beacons
Today we tour into the scenic Brecon Beacons to enjoy a ride on the Brecon Mountain Railway, one of the most popular steam railways in Wales. The 9.5 mile journey takes you into the Brecon Beacons National Park, through Pontsticill and along the full length of the Taf Fechan Reservoir before climbing to Torpantau high in the Brecon Beacons. Arriving in Brecon there is time to explore this historic market town with its charming atmosphere before heading back through the Rhondda Valley, famous for its historical coal mining influence.
FULL DAY: St Fagans National Museum of History & Dyffryn Gardens
This morning we head for nearby St Fagans National Museum of History which is one of Europe’s leading open air museums and Wales’s most popular heritage attraction. Enjoy a fascinating walk around Wales from Celtic times to present day, chronicling the historical lifestyle, culture, and architecture of the Welsh people. This afternoon we visit Dyffryn Gardens an Edwardian garden which is in constant restoration and prettily set in the Vale of Glamorgan. There are more than fifty five acres of historical vistas, intricate themed garden rooms, working kitchen gardens, an exotic glass house and a magical arboretum.
