Dunoon, rightly known as the 'Gateway to the Highlands', relies on its delightful setting on the Firth of Clyde and the sheer beauty of the Cowal Peninsula to enchant its visitors. The resort itself boasts two fine bays, beautiful parks, and a four-mile long promenade that provides some of the most perfect level walks. This, together with visits to Loch Lomond, the spectacular highlands and islands of Argyll, and a journey over to the lovely Isle of Bute, make this holiday a wonderful choice in every way.

Our base, the pretty Highland village of Blair Atholl, is perfectly situated for touring and our packed holiday itinerary explores the breathtaking Highlands and Scotland’s glorious lochs and glens. And as an added bonus we have included a visit to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo on the August departure.

Beyond the Highlands, the far north coast of Scotland has a truly magnetic appeal. Our base is Thurso, the most northerly town in mainland Britain, from where we explore this amazing landscape of remote coastlines, lonely roads, empty beaches of golden sand, and long sea inlets hemmed in by mighty mountains. Other highlights include a visit to famous John O’Groats, a visit to the Queen Mother’s beloved Castle of Mey, and a trip to the spectacular Orkney Islands.

The breathtaking scenery of Wester Ross is reminiscent of the Norwegian fjords, with dramatic mountain peaks and majestic lochs that bite into the coastline. Ullapool developed as a trading post for the Outer Hebrides, and enjoys an idyllic setting near the mouth of Loch Broom. The village has retained its timeless, peaceful quality - street signs are in both Gaelic and English, fishermen land their rich harvest in the picturesque harbour, and the friendliness of the local people is matched only by the serenity and unspoiled beauty of the surrounding area.

Oban has become one of the major holiday centres in the West Highlands. The town bustles with life and the harbour is busy with supply boats plying their way to the Islands. There is a superb level esplanade, a whisky distillery and woollen mills, whilst Pulpit Hill affords wonderful views across the Firth of Lorne with some unforgettable sunsets, and just offshore from the town lies the green island of Kerrera which is linked to Oban by passenger ferry.

Set amid the changing landscapes of Scotland’s border country this new tour combines wonderful scenic coach touring with some fantastic sightseeing opportunities. You’ll enjoy a memorable visit to historic Edinburgh, where we take a guided tour, visit the famous Royal Yacht Britannia, and explore intriguing Rosslyn Chapel of Da Vinci Code fame. You’ll also take in some of Britain’s finest countryside, including the rolling hills and handsome towns of Border Country, and the breathtaking beauty of England’s Lake District National Park.

First performed in 1950 as the army’s contribution to the Edinburgh Festival, the Military Tattoo has become a much-loved annual event, held for a period of three weeks in August on the floodlit Castle Esplanade. Whilst primarily a military display, it is a colourful and exciting performance by marching bands in a dramatic evening setting high above the city.

Aberfoyle enjoys a tranquil setting at the southern gateway to the Trossachs, close to the shimmering waters of Loch Lomond and Loch Katrine. Sir Walter Scott waxed lyrical about the area transforming the small village into a popular tourist centre which it remains today. It also provides a perfect base to discover the lochs and waterways of central Scotland, including the mighty Firth of Forth and the impressive Falkirk Wheel.
