Your Itinerary
DAY 1: From local joining points we cross to Calais and onwards to join the Virginia in Cologne.
DAY 2: This morning we sail upstream, passing the former West German capital of Bonn, to reach Andernach. From here we take a coach excursion to Koblenz, at the confluence of the rivers Rhine & Moselle.
DAY 3: A full day cruising today, departing before breakfast, as we pass through the spectacular Rhine Gorge and by the famous Loreley Rock, to reach the ever-popular tourist centre of Rüdesheim, well known for its bustling Drosselgasse - a narrow lane of wine taverns.
DAY 4: This morning we cruise back downstream to pretty Boppard - the 'Jewel of the Rhine'. Here the annual Boppard Wine Festival is taking place with local wine growers celebrating the harvest amid one of the largest wine producing regions of the Rhineland. Enjoy the atmosphere in the market square as the wine flows and the music plays at one of the key events in the town’s calendar.
DAY 5: Departing from Boppard after breakfast we continue along the Rhine to return to Cologne where the afternoon is free to explore at leisure.
DAY 6: We disembark the Virginia after breakfast and return to Calais for our Channel crossing and homeward bound.
