DAY 1: From selected local departure points we cross the Channel and make our way to join our cruise ship in Cologne for a late dinner.
DAY 2: We depart Cologne over breakfast and cruise to Andernach, a former Celtic settlement and Roman town on the banks of the Rhine and one of the oldest towns in Germany. From here we take a coach excursion to nearby Koblenz, where the popularly named Deutsches Eck or German Corner highlights the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers.
DAY 3: This morning we join the River Moselle, where vineyards ease down to the waterfront from the surrounding hills, as we cruise to Winningen and then by coach to Bernkastel.
DAY 4: Today we cruise back towards Koblenz and through the spectacular Rhine Gorge, passing Boppard and the famous Loreley Rock to reach Rüdesheim, where the remainder of the afternoon and evening is free to enjoy this popular tourist centre with its famous Drosselgasse.
DAY 5: Departing before breakfast our cruise returns downstream to Cologne, arriving mid afternoon with time to explore this majestic city with its bustling river frontage and magnificent cathedral, now designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
DAY 6: We disembark after breakfast and head for Calais and the Channel crossing before heading for home.
