7 Days Full Board River Cruise

Sit back and relax aboard the welcoming Esmeralda on a lovely Autumn cruise through the lowlands of Holland and its two main rivers – the Rhine and the Waal. This gentle cruise explores cities with strong World War II associations, as well as visiting the Dutch capital and ever-popular Amsterdam, together with cruising across the border into neighbouring Germany.

Your Itinerary

Day 1: From local joining points we cross the Channel and continue through Belgium and into Holland to reach Arnhem and the Esmeralda for a late dinner.

Day 2: A morning to explore Arnhem, renowned for the Battle of Arnhem during World War II. Over lunch we depart and sail to Emmerich, the first town in Germany.

Day 3: Cruising this morning we reach Dusseldorf by lunchtime. This afternoon explore the city at leisure.

Day 4: This morning we cruise back across the border and on to the River Waal to Nijmegen, the oldest city in the Netherlands.

Day 5: Over breakfast we cruise along the Waal and through the lowlands to reach the busy port of Rotterdam. This afternoon we include a visit to The Hague, seat of the Dutch Parliament.

Day 6: A morning cruising to Amsterdam where the afternoon is free to explore this fascinating city before enjoying your last night on board.

Day 7: We disembark after breakfast and return homeward.

The Esmeralda

The Esmeralda is a spacious, superior, river cruise ship with 63 outward facing cabins on two decks with a homely friendly atmosphere. The vessel has air-conditioning throughout.

Public areas include: • Forward lounge/bar on Promenade Deck • Restaurant on the Main Deck • Partially covered Sun Deck

All cabins include: • Picture window • Shower & toilet • Satellite television • Safety deposit box • Twin beds at floor level • Continental electricity socket (220 volts)

Please note: Prices reflect cabin location. Promenade Deck cabins are higher above the waterline and have better views. There is a stair lift between Main and Promenade Deck and Promenade Deck and Sun Deck. Whilst there is a stair lift on board wheelchair access to and from ship is not possible.
