Full day: This morning we make our way to The Deep to discover one of the best aquariums in the world including a fabulous ‘underwater’ tunnel through the heart of the centre. Afterwards we head to the old quarter of Hull, the European City of Culture in 2017, where a number of museums and galleries are well worth a visit or simply enjoy the cobbled alleys and grand squares.
Full day: Along the East Yorkshire coast to the nostalgic resort of Bridlington, with its busy harbour, before we head to the more bustling tourist resort of Scarborough, straddling two bays and dominated by its prominent headland.
Half day: We visit Burnby Hall Gardens where the principal attraction is Europe’s largest water lily collection. In the afternoon we visit Burton Agnes Hall and Gardens, a magnificent Elizabethan mansion lived in by descendants of the original family. This home is filled with treasures accumulated over four centuries, and the surrounding gardens are a delight.
