Full Day: To the excellent National Coal Mining Museum to meet the pit ponies, explore the colliery and, for those who wish, explore 140 metres underground with one of Yorkshire’s ex-miners. This afternoon we visit Holmfirth, the pretty town showcased in the ever-popular Last of the Summer Wine TV Series.
Full Day: This morning to Skipton where it is market day before reaching Haworth, home of the Bronte Sisters where the Parsonage Museum houses many of their fascinating family relics.
Full Day: To Harewood House, described as ‘a St Petersburg Palace on a Yorkshire hill’, combining ‘Capability Brown’ landscapes, Robert Adam interiors and Chippendale furniture. This afternoon to the floral spa town of Harrogate with its world famous parks and gardens.
