• Black Country Living Museum • Severn Valley • Worcester • Bridgnorth • Lichfield
Full day: Today we head for Dudley to visit the award winning Black Country Living Museum with lunch included. Covering 26 acres of former industrial land this open-air museum is uniquely placed to tell the story of the world’s first industrial landscape. Black Country folk, some of the most hard working, ingenious and influential people, changed the world at this very special time and place in history. On arrival a local expert will give us an introductory talk, before we get the opportunity to explore at leisure - the Victorian School Room, trams and trolley cars, underground coalmine and authentic shops, houses and workshops which are all worth a visit.
Full day: This morning to pretty Bridgnorth, in reality two towns - the low town beside the River Severn and the castled high town, connected by the steepest inland funicular railway in Britain. From here there is the opportunity to board the famous Severn Valley Railway as it winds through the countryside to Kidderminster, before we reach the cathedral city of Worcester where there is time to explore.
Half day: A morning excursion to the city of Lichfield where the magnificent cathedral is well worth a visit.
