Excursions include:

A full day to Lincoln where the magnificent cathedral is the third largest in Britain, perched on top of a hill, visible for miles around. In the oldest party of the city the castle was built over the original Roman town, whilst the newer shopping area lies at the foot of the aptly named 'Steep Hill.' A splended day out soaking in the rich history of Lincoln.

Another full day excursion as we make our way through fields brimming with famous fenland produce to Boston, where we can enjoy the sights of market day. However, the main attraction of the day is the spectacular tower of the Boston Stump, which dominates the town and countryside. Boston was once England's second largest seaport in the Middle ages. We also call at Spalding, the 'garden' town of the Lincolnshire Fens, divided in two by the River Welland, which is spanned by seven bridges and boasts a medieval church and market place.

Our last excursion enjoys a half day heading deep into the Lincolnshire Wolds, a landscape of gentle hills and broad horizons that played a central role in the renowned poetry of Alfred, Lord Tennyson, who was born locally. We take time to visit Louth, a beautiful preserved Georgian market town that straddles the River Lud.
