Full day: We head to Ironbridge, birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and site of the world’s first iron bridge, built across the River Severn between 1711-81. We explore the valley, and of course have the opportunity to cross the bridge itself, before visiting the fascinating museum of Blists Hill Victorian Town (admission included).
Full day: This morning to Shrewsbury, one of England’s finest Tudor towns. After some time for sightseeing we head into the heart of Shropshire, surrounded by the Long Mynd and Wenlock Edge, to the border town of Ludlow, one of Britain’s loveliest medieval towns.
Half day: This morning to pretty Bridgnorth, in reality two towns - the low town beside the River Severn and the castled high town, connected by the steepest inland funicular railway in Britain. There will be time to explore this historical town or perhaps take an optional ride on the world famous Severn Valley Steam Railway (seasonal only).
