Itinerary

Sunday: We head to our overnight hotel.

Monday: This morning we cross to Dublin and make our way to Birr.

Tuesday: A day at leisure.

Wednesday: Today we visit the National Stud in County Kildare and with racing almost a national sport in Ireland the Stud is home to some of the most revered thoroughbreds in the country. We take time to visit the neighbouring Japanese Gardens - claimed to be the finest in Europe, before making our way to the Tullamore Dew Visitor Centre where we discover and taste their famous whiskey.

Thursday: A visit to the colourful city of Galway, celebrated in song and dance across the world. Enjoy a stroll around famous Eyre Square and don’t miss the impressive stone built cathedral.

Friday: First to Portumna at the head of Lough Derg before reaching the town of Athlone, straddling the banks of the River Shannon. We continue to Clonmacnoise where we conclude our day with a gentle cruise down the Shannon.

Saturday: To Dublin this morning, before our afternoon sailing to Holyhead and on to our overnight hotel.

Sunday: Today we return homeward.
