Home to the newly built North Wales Theatre - where performances range from traditional seaside shows to plays, ballet and opera - Llandudno really does have something for everyone. Stroll along the broad sweep of level promenade and take-in the wonderful fresh sea air, and in the summer enjoy one of the summer afternoon concerts held regularly on the bandstand. There are two beaches, a superb Victorian pier offering a variety of seaside amusements, and for those who like to shop, Llandudno offers a tremendous variety of outlets plus lots of street cafes and friendly tea shops.
No holiday to Llandudno would be complete without visiting the Great Orme. With a history that stretches back to the bronze age, the Orme has a fascination all of its own. Take the tram or cable car to the summit and enjoy breathtaking views across to the Isle of Anglesey and beyond. For the more energetic there's an all-weather dry ski slope together with guided walks, nature trails and a number of colourful gardens to explore.
Llandudno is also a perfect place for exploring magnificent North Wales and Snowdonia with its towering mountains, waterfalls, rivers, lush meadows and hillside farms. Visit beautiful Bodnant Gardens, one of the finest gardens in the world, or the award winning Slate Caverns in Ffestiniog. Take a journey into the past and travel on one of the Great Little Trains of Wales, or explore the unique village of Portmeirion, built by Clough William-Ellis between 1925-1972 and location for the TV series 'The Prisoner'. And for those who are interested in the past, North Wales abounds with historic buildings and ancient relics. Caernarfon Castle, where the investiture of the Prince of Wales took place, is well worth a visit, as is Conwy Castle which overlooks the pretty Conwy estuary.
