Dunoon, rightly known as the ‘Gateway to the Highlands’, relies on its delightful setting on the Firth of Clyde and the sheer beauty of the Cowal Peninsula to enchant its visitors. The resort itself boasts two fine bays, beautiful parks, and a four-mile long promenade that provides some of the most perfect level walks. This, together with visits to Loch Lomond, the spectacular highlands and islands of Argyll, and a journey over to the lovely Isle of Bute, make this holiday a wonderful choice in every way.

Oban has become one of the major holiday centres in the West Highlands. The town bustles with life and the harbour is busy with supply boats plying their way to the Islands. There is a superb level esplanade, a whisky distillery and woollen mills, whilst Pulpit Hill affords wonderful views across the Firth of Lorne with some unforgettable sunsets, and just offshore from the town lies the green island of Kerrera which is linked to Oban by passenger ferry.

Scotland is a country much-loved by the Royal Family, and Royal connections abound on this wonderful tour. Visit the Queen Mum’s childhood home, and enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery imaginable that has captured the hearts of the Royal Family through the centuries. Our base is the county town of Blairgowrie, on the banks of the River Ericht and at the gateway to spectacular Glenshee.

7 Days Half Board by Coach

Enjoy a lovely six night break amid the lush rolling landscapes, proud market towns and ruined castles that make up Scotland’s Border Country. We also explore the banks of ‘bonnie’ Loch Lomond, visit the historic capital of Edinburgh, and get treated to some rather special hospitality and entertainment at our hotel base in the quiet village of Abington - including evening entertainment and complimentary drinks vouchers*.

7 & 8 days Half Board by Coach

Tucked away amidst the Highland glens and mountains, the pretty little spa resort of Strathpeffer is really no more than a village, yet it still retains an air of gentility, which it acquired in its Victorian heyday. Although the spa buildings still entertain the occasional customer, visitors are drawn today as it’s a perfect touring base for the majestic mountain and loch scenery which characterise this beautiful corner of Scotland.

5 Days Half Board* by Coach

First performed in 1950 as the army’s contribution to the Edinburgh Festival, the military Tattoo has become a much-loved annual event, held for a period of three weeks in August on the floodlit Castle Esplanade. Whilst primarily a military display, it is a colourful and exciting performance by marching bands in a dramatic evening setting high above the city.

8 Days Half Board by Coach

Beyond the Highlands, the far north coast of Scotland has a truly magnetic appeal and the breathtaking scenery of the North Western Highlands is reminiscent of the Norwegian Fjords, with dramatic mountain peaks and majestic lochs that bite into the coastline. Our scenic itinerary allows us to spend a day on the remote Orkney Islands, and allows us to explore the mountains and lochs of Wester Ross, and the wild and beautiful seascapes of Sutherland. As an added bonus, and by way of contrast, we have also included visits to Inverness, Fort William and the cosmopolitan city of Glasgow too.
